General Introduction: I am Guangwei Yang, as a professor and PhD/master supervisor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, China. I obtained my Ph.D.in Electronic science and technology from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China (2019). Then I worked at Aalborg University as a Postdoc for one year. Since I was granted the Newton International Fellowship by the UK Royal Society in 2020, 1 moved to the school of Electronics Engincering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, as a Newton Fellow. In November 2022, I joined University College Cork as a senior researcher. Given that I have worked in different renowned research teams in my field, my combination of research experience,cross-cultural collaboration, and independent research skills positions me as a highly competent and well-rounded professional in my field.
As Pl or Co-PI, I involved in more than 10 projects &fundings supported by Royal Society,UK; Huawei, UK; Sony, Sweden;GomSpace, Denmark;NFSC, China; SFI, Ireland; etc. My research interests are focused on areas such as antenna theory, beamforming technology for 5G communication systems, new approaches and schemes for future wireless communication based on meta-materials/meta-surface.
